After entering the workforce, due to the challenges and setbacks of real life, and differing opinions with my grandmother over eating instant noodles, the hometown dishes I once disliked as a child now evoke a sense of nostalgia. Through the depiction of these moments, I reconnect with the warm memories of the past, achieving an emotional resonance.
Doughnut Floating Shelf
Department of Industrial Design, National Kaohsiung Normal University
This piece draws upon the structural vocabulary of traditional Chinese dougong, reimagining it as a wall-mounted shelf that projects outward from the surface. Begonia-patterned glass evokes the visual language of classical window latticework, while dual-directional lighting casts floral shadows above and a virtual column below. Through a refined interplay of material and light, the work offers a contemporary interpretation of Eastern architectural symbolism.
