Introduction
Design begins with observation, and perspective determines how we see a problem. By shifting perspectives, we explore how understanding and empathy can become possible starting points for design. The same landscape, filtered through the lenses of different souls, will reflect countless forms. The 28th Exhibition of Product Design from Ming Chuan University, titled "The First Perspective" symbolizes designers returning to the starting point of observation, understanding the world from the user's perspective. Over four years of honing our skills, through countless research, interviews, and practical projects, we have gradually established our own way of seeing—stepping back from appearances to see the essence of problems with deeper insight and empathy.
"The First Perspective" represents a conscious awareness of thought: differences in perspective determine the direction of design; the depth of understanding determines the value of design.
This exhibition, centered on "Observation—Understanding—Response," utilizes visual focus, layered composition, and transparent media to create a sense of presence, as if one were at the user's first-hand location, symbolizing that each work originates from genuine needs and sincere care. "The First Perspective" is not only a way of seeing, but also a design attitude, expressing our observations and responsibilities towards life, society, and the future. This group of designers uses their work as a language, revealing problems through perspective, bridging distances through understanding, and connecting the world through creation, recording our intuitive perceptions on the design journey.
Here, each piece is both a question and a response. We filter out distractions, focusing on the immediate space and details, condensing our most authentic emotions into form, inviting you to enter our vision and see the initial pulse of design.
