WHÖ SPEAKS

Introduction

How is dialogue constructed and understood? This project uses symbols as a medium for expression and emotional transformation. Through interviews with 17 thematic groups, the project identifies the most representative punctuation marks from each group, using their implicit linguistic nuances and emotional shifts as visual representations to address the question of "who is speaking," emphasizing non-verbal factors such as tone, rhythm, and sentence structure. Simultaneously, "people," "products," and "environment" form the core framework of the design cycle. The left side serves as the main visual element and TV wall. A covered design conceals the television, while partial cutouts allow the eye to penetrate the wall and view the screen behind it. Viewers no longer see a standard rectangular screen, but rather a framed view through punctuation marks. Other punctuation marks extend outwards from the wall, creating a three-dimensional layer, establishing a sense of depth and enhancing visual tension and spatial perspective. The remaining walls are not thematic walls for this project. They will feature exhibition panels of varying sizes according to the needs of each group, avoiding the restriction of works to fixed backdrops. This allows each thematic group to integrate with the exhibition space, further extending the freedom and development of the works. "WHÖ SPEAKS" is not only a presentation of "speaking," but also an ongoing dialogue; as in this exhibition, the works are still continuing.
