Introduction
“My Aesthetic, You Don’t Understand” is not merely a complaint, but an honest reflection shaped by life under pressure and constant change. When efficiency and results dominate everything, objects perceived as soft, cute, or even “immature” become spaces where people place their emotions and seek comfort. They are not just commodities, but a subtle emotional language—offering companionship in loneliness and easing anxiety. Yet when these choices are questioned, a gap quietly forms between generations.
This project begins from the perspective of generational differences and identity. Rather than arguing over right or wrong, it uses visuals, materials, and interactive experiences to invite understanding of the emotions and values behind what is considered “misunderstood.” When rationality and sensitivity coexist, and softness meets rigidity, aesthetics is no longer just about form, but a reflection of lived experiences and values shaped by different times. The work poses a question: if we are willing to listen and understand, could these seemingly trivial forms of tenderness actually be what sustain us in facing reality? Ultimately, aesthetics becomes a journey of understanding, dialogue, and empathy.
