13th New Generation Design Industry-Academia Collaboration｜Online Call for Proposals Briefing

The 2026–2027 13th New Generation Design Industry-Academia Collaboration is officially underway!

This year, centered around the theme “Evolution,” we are bringing together 8 companies and public-sector organizations to present real-world industry challenges. Spanning areas including education, circularity, health, entertainment, technology, mobility, local development, and spatial innovation, the program features 8 key challenge topics that invite university and college students across Taiwan to respond to industry needs through cross-disciplinary thinking and develop innovative proposals with creativity, practical value, and development potential.

To help students and faculty better understand this year’s challenges and how to participate, the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI) will host an Online Call for Proposals Briefing, introducing the participating organizations, challenge topics, submission guidelines, and industry-academia collaboration process.

This year’s briefing will feature a special Selected Case Study Session, showcasing representative projects from previous editions and insights from industry-academia co-creation. Participants will gain a closer look at how teams transformed industry challenges into well-developed proposals—from identifying needs and developing concepts to shaping practical solutions—while also understanding key evaluation considerations and the collaboration process with industry partners.

💰 Total prize money: NT$1.87 million

Each challenge also offers different industry resources and collaboration opportunities. Whether you are looking for a direction for your graduation or semester project, or hoping to gain hands-on experience by tackling real-world industry challenges, we welcome university and college students and faculty to join the briefing, explore the topics, and start preparing your teams and proposals.
