Through interviews with partners of 「SamadhiTang Creative Puppet Troupe」, we can learn about the challenges currently facing puppet theaters and how they view training a new generation of puppeteers so that audiences can understand this century-old art and continue its traditions.

Elementary school students from remote areas visited SamadhiTang to watch a performance and learn about puppet theater culture. SamadhiTang staff instruct children on how to operate the puppets. On the path of cultural creation, it’s not just as glamorous as it appears on the surface. Behind this path lies a deeper cultural heritage and passionate new partners who have come together with a shared goal, quietly making efforts for the local area, hoping to let more people recognize the local culture and products, and attract more people to return and contribute. This news feature will lead everyone to get to know the social enterprise Shan Hai Tun, as well as introduce places like Xinhua and Zuo Zhen. It will interview those partners who are willing to give back to their hometown and work quietly behind the scenes. They are not just social enterprises; they are also lifelong residents of Zuo Zhen, Xinhua. Let them guide us through the process of how to achieve inheritance, giving back, and hope.
