STΛRMVRS is a tool specifically designed for capturing crown-of-thorns starfish, primarily used in marine areas affected by their outbreaks.Addressing the current manual removal process, this tool uses a gripper to extract crown-of-thorns starfish from coral reefs and places them into a capture net.Once a certain number of starfish have accumulated in the net, an inflation device can be activated to fill the airbags surrounding the net, causing it to float to the surface for easy retrieval by personnel on board.
This design aims to improve the efficiency and convenience of removing crown-of-thorns starfish, thereby helping to restore damaged coral reef ecosystems.
