"OUR SUMMER" is a dual-narrative drama that tells two intertwined stories—one set in the modern day and the other rooted in traditional times, with the former serving as the primary storyline and the latter as a supporting thread. The traditional storyline explores the rejection and misunderstanding that same-sex relationships often face within conservative families, as portrayed through the breakup of a lesbian couple. In contrast, the modern storyline follows the emotional journey of two women whose close friendship gradually evolves into something deeper, highlighting the anxiety, uncertainty, and struggles with self-identity that arise along the way.
Lin Yu-Xin and Ke Jia-Yi have grown up together, sharing everything with each other. However, as time goes by, Lin Yu-Xin begins to realize that her feelings for Ke Jia-Yi are more than just friendship. In another timeline, Du Jia-Qi suddenly asks Xue Zhi-Xin for a breakup. The reason: Du Jia-Qi’s parents have discovered her romantic involvement with another girl and have arranged a blind date for her with a man.
