Ci-Yu-Ji is a nostalgic sandplay game designed for seniors aged 65 and above in Taiwan. It integrates sandtray creation, nostalgic objects, and a three-stage memory training mechanism. Through guided gameplay and storytelling during the game, it encourages interaction and reminiscing among elderly players, helping to reduce depression, lower the risk of dementia, and create a warm and meaningful leisure experience.
Inspired by various traditional Taiwanese elements, the game's aesthetic conveys a sense of nostalgia and warmth, helping to bridge emotional gaps between seniors. By incorporating nostalgic objects that represent the seven major stages of life, the game serves as a medium for memory recall and emotional connection. This not only fosters a sense of belonging through shared memories and storytelling, but also stimulates positive emotions and boosts self-confidence among elderly participants.
